A filled balloon on a weight is not a toy to chew. The risk is not helium and not the colour — it is an uninflated latex balloon or a popped fragment that a small child can put in the mouth.
For toddlers we recommend foil numbers and figures on sticks or weights, and we keep loose latex out of reach. After the party, gather burst pieces and deflated balloons before children start to play on the floor.
- Never give an uninflated latex balloon to a child under eight
- Popped latex must be thrown away at once, not left on the carpet
- Foil numbers and walkers are a better choice for very young guests
- Supervise any game that involves bursting balloons
- Keep strings short enough that they cannot wrap around the neck
If the set is for a nursery or a first birthday, tell the operator — we will assemble it without loose latex. See also the balloon catalogue.
